Religious Fundamentalists

Filed under: Religion - Cynthia @ 5:59 pm

Are now trying to dumb down Europeans with the teaching of intelligent design (pseudoscience). Religious people are scary especially since most of the wars throughout history have been because of religions.

"Politicians who deal with cultural issues are alarmed not only that such theories are increasingly finding ‘their way to Europe,’ but also that these fundamentalists are trying to implement the teaching of their theory in schools as an equally viable alternative to evolution."

Theology has no place in a university

Filed under: Miscellaneous, Humor, Religion - Cynthia @ 7:52 pm

I couldn’t agree more.

Richard Dawkins

We who doubt that "theology" is a subject at all, or who compare it with the study of leprechauns, are eagerly hoping to be proved wrong. Of course, university departments of theology house many excellent scholars of history, linguistics, literature, ecclesiastical art and music, archaeology, psychology, anthropology, sociology, iconology, and other worthwhile and important subjects. These academics would be welcomed into appropriate departments elsewhere in the university. But as for theology itself, defined as "the organised body of knowledge dealing with the nature, attributes, and governance of God", a positive case now needs to be made that it has any real content at all, and that it has any place in today’s universities.

Bubbles of Delusions

Filed under: Religion - Cynthia @ 9:57 pm

If you are religious, you do not want to listen to this You Tube video. It basically says that people who believe in religions are living in their own little bubble of delusion.

A planet of delusional people is dangerous because rational thought is replaced with superstition. In fact, the delusion of religious thoughts makes you discard rational thoughts. If you want to heal, you must be willing to live outside of your bubble of delusion.

Going against what is natural

Filed under: Religion - Cynthia @ 5:41 pm

The Catholic Church is a good example of what will happen if you go against nature. I would never subject my children to such deviant behavior from supposedly religious and god-fearing people. These acts are not unique to priests; nuns are also guilty of sexually abusing children as well as each other.

Racism in the guise of religion

Filed under: Religion, Ray Hagin - Cynthia @ 12:50 pm

I went to hear Dr. Ray Hagin on May 31st and he made some interesting comments and backed up his observations with bible verses.

The first thing that I thought was interesting and I totally agree with his assertion: The most dangerous thing a person can do is to think the bible is a history book.

Second, if you look at the genealogy of the people that God allegedly told the Jews to utterly destroy, one will begin to see the racist philosophy of the God of the Old Testament, because all the people that this God wanted destroyed were from the lineage of Ham, the Son of Noah who was allegedly cursed. This same Ham was supposed to be the father of all Black/African people.

Deuteronomy 7:1-8:

1) When the LORD your God brings you into the land you are entering to possess and drives out before you many nations—the Hittites, Girgashites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites, seven nations larger and stronger than you-

2) and when the LORD your God has delivered them over to you and you have defeated them, then you must destroy them totally. Make no treaty with them, and show them no mercy. 3) Do not intermarry with them. Do not give your daughters to their sons or take their daughters for your sons,

4) for they will turn your sons away from following me to serve other gods, and the LORD’s anger will burn against you and will quickly destroy you. 5) This is what you are to do to them: Break down their altars, smash their sacred stones, cut down their Asherah poles and burn their idols in the fire.

6) For you are a people holy to the LORD your God. The LORD your God has chosen you out of all the peoples on the face of the earth to be his people, his treasured possession. 7) The LORD did not set his affection on you and choose you because you were more numerous than other peoples, for you were the fewest of all peoples.

8) But it was because the LORD loved you and kept the oath he swore to your forefathers that he brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you from the land of slavery, from the power of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

I’ve always wondered how a just God can justify these types of atrocities against people that were productive and minding their own business. And how could this God be so willing to destroy a nation that it allegedly holds dear if this nation doesn’t carry out these murderous acts against innocent people in its name.

Third, good people will do terrible things and accept terrible injustices committed to others in the name of their religion. Refer to the scriptures above.

Fourth, the Bible has firmly established a hierarchy when it comes to which people are superior and subordinate. For instance, Abraham plus Sarah had Isaac a Jew. Abraham plus Hagar (the Egyptian woman) gave rise to the entire "Arab world". You really have to wonder how a man that was suppose to have been the father of the Jewish nation, have a child by an Egyptian woman (who were clearly Black during those times) gave birth to the Arab world. I think if people applied common sense to the reading of their bible, they would file that book where it should be (use your imagination).

Fifth, if Ishmael was the firstborn, then how can God have a covenant where Isaac is the sole benefactor? What this means is that the Jews are the illegitimate heirs of a fictitious relationship with a God that was more than likely made up to subjugate or victimize people with the victims consent. The following passages illustrate that the Jews do not have the rights to anything.

The Right of the Firstborn – Deuteronomy 21: 15) If a man has two wives, and he loves one but not the other, and both bear him sons but the firstborn is the son of the wife he does not love, 17) He must acknowledge the son of his unloved wife as the firstborn by giving him a double share of all he has. That son is the first sign of his father’s strength. The right of the firstborn belongs to him.

As long as people, particular Black people believe in the bible, they have agreed with the notion that this alleged God of the Universe favors the White man over everyone else. The Arabs are second in rank, and Black people are on the bottom of the totem pole.

What type of God would do this and act like this? It is these types of references that justify the so call war on terror that America is waging against the Arab world. It is these types of biblical references that justify the moral superiority of the White world over others and it gives them the moral right and authority to destroy the cultures of others in the name of their God without the guilt associated with the atrocities committed. If God did it in the pass and told me to do it now, then I can kill you in his name.

Honor Killings

Filed under: Religion - Cynthia @ 4:49 pm

This shows how unreasonable beliefs can be. Knowledge is more substantial. To know is better than to believe. Some religions should be moderated and this is a perfect example of why. Ladies beware, this is normal in some circles. This man is exposing the barbaric behavior that is a central tenet of Islam.

A Turkish immigrant in Scottsville, New York has been charged with the murder of his wife. He claims that his actions were taken as a matter of “honor.” Why? He attacked his wife and 22-year-old daughter after learning that they had been molested by the man’s brother. He tried to kill his four-year-old daughter because she had been “sullied” by a gynecological exam.

In Chicago, a man killed his family because he felt "disrespected". Fifty-five-year-old Daryoush Ebrahimi (dar-roo"-sh ay bra-HE’ me) is being held without bond on charges of first degree murder after police say he bludgeoned his family over the weekend.

Dr. Ray Hagin

Filed under: Racism in America, State of Black America, Religion, Ray Hagin - Cynthia @ 8:38 am

I met Dr. Hagin on Friday. It is refreshing to see that there are a growing number of Black people including Pastor Ray Hagin who do not think we should believe the propaganda of others. He believes we can’t solve our problems using other people’s propaganda (religion). Black people only believe in Christianity today because the slave masters forced it upon us. It was forced upon us because religion accomplishes three things (only)...

  1. It establishes the cultural and racial superiority of the people who created it
  2. It perpetuates and improves upon the intended agenda (to control its unfortunate victims)

The validity of the Pauline Epistles

Filed under: Religion - Cynthia @ 3:33 pm

This was a busy weekend for me. I attended a workshop discussing the validity of the Pauline Epistles and the bible by examining verses in the bible that are somehow overlooked.

  • Romans 3:7 - For if the truth of God hath more abounded through my lie unto his glory; why yet am I also judged as a sinner?
  • Roman 2:16 - In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.
  • Roman 16:25 – Now to him that is of power to establish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which has been kept secret since the world began.
  • II Timothy 2:8 – Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel.

From the passages above:

    1. Can we conclude that Paul is admitting that he made up everything in the Gospels that are ascribed to him?
    2. Can we say that in general people are being manipulated to believe in lies?
    3. Are we so brain washed that we would never be able to accept the truth because it means that we would have to change our perception of what is the truth?
    4. Is it more comfortable to ignore the truth and accept outright lies?

If we accept these inconsistencies, psychologists call this cognitive dissonance because the brain can’t reconcile the conflicting thoughts. In other words, the brain will shut down momentarily in an attempt to avoid dealing with conflicting thoughts. Those who shut down will make the following statement: I don’t know how I know this – I just know it and that’s that.
