Racial discrimination tied to breast cancer risk

Filed under: Racism in America, Health - Cynthia @ 10:35 am

I didn’t need a study to tell met this: Black women who feel they’ve been victims of racial discrimination are more likely than their peers to develop breast cancer, a large study suggests. This money could have been used to equalized things in America if people really cared!

  2. I’m confused about why they chose to study this. I would think that if they wanted to look at a health link between racial discrimination and disease, that the link between the stress of discrimination and blood pressure would make more sense.

As an aside, I don’t know what it is about the white women around me but I have SO many white breast cancer survivors and current sufferers around me. Two of my secretaries were diagnosed w/in the span of a year. I don’t know but one black woman w/ breast cancer though and she’s my age.

PS When you get a chance, will you e-mail me? I have a health question for you! Thanks.
