Dennis Kucinich

This morning I was watching Real Time With Bill Maher and he interviewed Dennis Kucinich, I have to admit, my political views are more in line with his views than any presidential candidate that I have heard.

  1. Seems to me Congressman Kucinich is the only candidate who realizes the United States is, right now, technically bankrupt.

Let me ask you this… Why is he going after the very enterprises that have been most instrumental in de-industrializing the nation—Wall Street—with his Universal Health Care program?

BECAUSE HE UNDERSTANDS HOW EXTREMELY VULNERABLE WALL STREET FINANCE IS RIGHT NOW.

He also understands how the securities-based, credit creating machine that is Wall Street is, in fact, operating in a manner entirely UNCONSTITUTIONAL.

Structured Finance may be “the lynch-pin of the U.S. economy” (this, according to John Lipsky, former vice-chairman of JP Morgan/Chase). However, the insurance industry provides the metal this lynch-pin is made from.

Mr. Kucinich’s Universal Health Care proposal will entirely cut out private insurance companies. More than just some “symbolic” act, it is instead a declaration of war.

Most will focus on the “sugar” his health care program promises. Have no doubt, it is sweet.

I, for one, though, consider the courage it takes to challenge those on Wall Street who seemingly lack conscience for the general welfare of the nation. No other candidate of either party demonstrates this.

Trade deficits approaching $1 Trillion per year are a NECESSARY component of Structured Finance and serve only a select few, while at the same time bankrupting the powerful idea that is the American Republic.

Congressman Kucinich stands for AMERICAN POWER AND INTEGRITY.

So much so, that he is the ONLY candidate with THE GUTS to call for the impeachment of Vice President Richard B. Cheney. His bill, HR 333, lays this out for any patriotic American to see.

I have waited my entire adult lifetime for a candidate like Mr. Kucinich. The rest of the so-called “candidates” can go back to Mother England for all I care…

Thanks for stopping by and for the information. It is very enlightening. Like you, I have been waiting a long time for someone to challenge the status quo. It is unfortunate that he is not leading the other Democratic candidates. From what I’ve seen, none of the others will be an instrument for change.

  2. I will have to read up on Kucinich.

@HRes 333 – Or anyone for that matter. With the possibility of implementing universal health care, isn’t there going to be some financial woes before we actually realize the benefit? I would love to see universal health care, but the truth of the matter is, the US spends far more than any other country on what other countries would deem “luxury care”. Specifically in the arena of renal disease, and to some extent cancer care. I am not sure what universal health care will do to the economy exactly, but it seems that we might face a great overhaul, of what is now standard care. Possibly losing some benefits, and also increasing taxes. I am not sure how the current state of employment and individual incomes, which are pretty low currently and can not realistically support the average household, would handle a sudden increase in taxes. Doctor salaries may suffer as well, as they won’t be able to irresponsibly (IMO) order and then bill for these high price procedures that some countries feel are luxuries that people should have to pay out of pocket for. Also, if Wall street takes a dive right now, most big spenders will go with it. What will that mean for the future of our economy?

I would love to hear people give thier opinion and elaborate on this. I am not 100% clear on all of this, and would like to hear how others see this panning out.

EmergingPhoenix: I think if the universal health care comes into fruition, other changes will also occur. One thing for sure, the government needs to put restrictions on what they (corporations) call food and how real food is processed. If this occurs, people will not be as sick as they are now because the food industry in the U.S. is the reason why we have an increase in disease and consequently a rise in health care costs. On the flip side of this, if people refuse to watch what they consume, an additional tax/cost should be levied against them. As far as an increase in income taxes, I don’t know if this will be a real problem. America is in the position it is in because of corporate greed and irresponsibility. If the government holds corporations accountable, it will be a win-win situation for all, not just a few individuals. My views are more socialist in nature, others can give you a more capitalist analysis, which they will tell you that this type of policy will bankrupt America because the very corporations that have put a strangle hold on the government and outsourcing jobs to Chindia (China & India) will become bankrupt. I think corporations have shown that they are irresponsible and I think it is time for governmental regulations, the anti-trust laws to be re-implemented. This experiment of corporate control of the government has failed the average American citizen.

  3. I liked him too and until reading your post almost forgot that I’d meant to do more research on his background. Thanks for reminding me!
