As much as radio talk show hosts like to give the listeners the impression that they are &quot;speaking freely&quot;, they are very much controlled by the network and even the seemingly &quot;from the hip&quot; comments and stunts are planned and acted out according to standards.

I have a friend in radio who explained this to me and it turned me off to the FM radio talk shows altogether and I am wary of anyone who collects a pay check but claims to be independent.</description>
