Veto of the war budget

Filed under: National Politics - Cynthia @ 1:51 pm

Can you believe Bush will veto the war budget because the Democrats added $20 billion for the Katrina recovery/victims?

Dennis Kucinich

This morning I was watching Real Time With Bill Maher and he interviewed Dennis Kucinich, I have to admit, my political views are more in line with his views than any presidential candidate that I have heard.

I certainly hope so!

Real Facts about Hip Hop, the Music Industry & Black Folks
By Pearl Jr.

Here are the facts (billboard.com):
  1. In the first quarter of 2007, hip-hop sales are down 33.6% from same quarter of last year
  2. Hip-hop sales are down 21% from 2005 to 2006
  3. In 2006, only two hip-hop artists attained platinum status (T.I. & Jay Z)
  4. Hip Hop artists have the highest incarceration rates of any musical genre’s artists list
  5. This week (4-17-07), due to the massive media exposure of the Don Imus racist remarks, every single album released before last week (despite the genre), has declined in sales among the top 50 selling albums. Average drop of nearly 50%
  6. The music industry is suffering from massive losses beginning in the early millennium, when Black executives/executive producers were being dropped like flies and the ownership and distribution of music was conglomerated by non-Black ownership.
  7. Digital downloads is NOT making up the difference (15% digital – 85% CD = marketshare)
  8. Despite massive declines in CD sales, radio spins of negative hip-hop (rap cr*p) remained in high rotation
  9. The ONLY music genre to gain for the first quarter of 2007 is R&B, which is non-inclusive of hip-hop and that is only 1%.

Duke Lacrosse Rape case - what is wrong with this picture

Filed under: Racism in America, Miscellaneous - Cynthia @ 3:20 pm

There is something about this case that just doesn’t make sense. I don’t believe those guys were innocent. I think a deal was made. You have three rich White men who were allegedly falsely accused by a Black woman and the prosecutor allegedly was reckless in the way he handled the case, and yet, the alleged innocent rich White victims didn’t bother to sue their Black accuser or the attorneys handling her case. What part of the country did this take place in? I don’t think so! You have a prestigious school whose name has been tarnished and the monies they lost for suspending the Lacrosse team pending DNA results, and they didn’t sue either. I don’t think so!

I believe people were paid off including the Black woman and the lawyers (period) to simply make this case go away. Lastly, where is the Black woman? I bet sister girl is a rich woman right about now and she is enjoying the spoils that were generated from the indiscretions of those young men.

The North American Union Still Looms…

Found this over at Bullfrog’s blog

The fact is, our sovereignty as a country is being destroyed right under our noses without our knowledge or consent.

Read this article in Worldnetdaily for details. Here are a few key excerpts:

Many SPP (Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America) working groups appear to be working toward achieving specific objectives as defined by a May 2005 Council on Foreign Relations task force report, which presented a blueprint for expanding the SPP agreement into a North American union that would merge the U.S., Canada and Mexico into a new governmental form.

On Don Imus

Filed under: Racism in America - Cynthia @ 1:22 pm

I heard that Don Imus made those racially charged remarks about the Rutgers women’s basketball team because he wanted to break his contract with CBS so that he could work with his former co-worker, Howard Stern, who joined Sirius Satellite Radio last year. This incidence gave him the opportunity to accomplish that goal. If this is true, one has to wonder how much money he will be making on his new job since the original 5 year contract was for 8 or $10 million a year depending on which article you read.

Again, if this is true, this should serve as a lesson to those who are so quick to judge a situation. If you allow your opponents to know which buttons to push to get you all revved up, if you are not careful, you will be used in the process and then tossed aside.
