The man they call Obama
Does Obama have a real chance of winning the presidency in 2008? Or is he a mirage that dissipates into nothingness as Glen Ford suggests when he talks about Barack Obama: The mania and the mirage? If you analyze Obama’s words, he is gifted at saying absolutely nothing while exciting the masses with his empty rhetoric. If you analyze his record, one can conclude he will not be an instrument of change, but instead, he is part of that whole Washington machine.
Sam Smith of Undernews revisited Obama’s 2004 speech since it was this speech that was/is responsible for launching his career as a presidential contender. He said:
“Obama was sending a signal to the establishment that he wouldn’t cause any trouble, that he was willing to join the extremist center, that most dangerous faction of American politics – the one that starts wars, destroys the environment, and celebrates economic equality all the time bragging about how moderate it is”.
What does this mean for Black America, the Democrats most loyal constituents? Being a moderate, Obama is sending a clear message to Blacks that I am not beholden to you. In fact, Obama demonstrated his lack of loyalty by endorsing the current Mayor over two qualified Black candidates even though on the Mayor’s watch (among other things) as the DA over 100 Black men were tortured and forced to confess to crimes they didn’t commit. The person that was responsible for the tortures were shielded, given his pension and now lives in Florida. This article at the moment may be correct, Obama’s appeal to Blacks remain an open question. It’s clear to some, the Democrats in general favor Clinton over Obama and people are speculating that Blacks will vote for Clinton instead of Obama, this – in my opinion, will prove interesting as times goes on. One has to wonder how a political candidate can be anti-his/her most loyal constituents and expect them to be loyal to him/her.
At this moment in time, I don’t want Obama to be the first Black President of these United States.

Wow, I find myself co-signing you. It has been a minute since that happened.
Eff it, though. I’m still going to vote for “no-chance” if only to show the world that a black candidate is viable.
I blogged about this same thing last night. Is it me, or does his appeal to the black community seemed forced?

Is it just me? But why is someone running for the presidency be beholden to any particular group?
Welcome to politics in America. Every white candidate that has and is running in America is beholden to white America including Barack Obama. Why do you feel we don’t deserve anyone looking after our interests?

Hmm – i’m wondering. I think I’m really down for Obama. If for anything other than to assist in making positive history. I’m down for the man. I know, wrong place to have those types of values – but, still…
Thanks for stopping by. Your values are your values. I would also be down for Obama if he really was down for the people (all the people).

I want to see the race between Hillary and Barack. This would be a race to see whether “The Rock Star” can stand up to the heat against the person conservatives refer to as Hitlary.
