It’s all about Cynthia
I’ve been really busy lately and a lot is on my plate. There are a lot of things I would like to talk about, but in this post, it is all about me.
I spent a lot of time preparing for a review with my thesis committee. The meeting went extremely well. The Chairman asked me how much time I needed before I finished my thesis. I said, I wanted to do a few minor experiments that my PI wants me to do and I could have my thesis finalized by the end of March beginning of April at the latest. I haven’t set the date yet, but I am done! Yay for me. When your committee tells you to write your thesis and hand it in, you are done. It’s been a long journey, but I can see the rainbow at the end of this tunnel. With this news, I’ve started actively looking for a job. I sent out several CVs. I applied for a job that would be a good jump-start to my career. However, I absolutely do not believe in the cause this position is advocating. After reading the qualifications, the work I will find interesting, and I know I will do a good job because the work I’m required to do is definitely mentally challenging.
On a different note, I’ve been doing a mostly raw food diet for the past 6 – 8 months and I have lost enough weight that 1) people have noticed and 2) I weigh less than 130 pounds. Again, Yay for me. I’ve become really creative at making raw food not taste like it is raw with The Raw Gourmet. The recipes are simple and delicious. In addition, once a month, I attend a raw food event. You’ll be surprised at the recipes you can pick up and modify for your own personal taste. We had a Kwanzaa celebration where I featured gourmet raw food and people were really surprised at how good the food taste. I’ve had several requests from various people to prepare food for them and they are more than willing to pay me for my services.
In addition to losing weight, there are other perks to eating live. I went to get my drivers license renewed and discovered I can see clearly without glasses. My immune system appears to be working more efficiently. Last Monday, I went to bed with a sore throat and the next day, my sore throat was gone. This is the first time this has happened. Normally, when I get a sore throat, I have to take lozenges to manage the pain. My favorite is this, my skin looks better and this is very important to someone who doesn’t wear makeup…

Great to hear. Good luck and git er done.
