Al Gore

Filed under: National Politics, Environment - Cynthia @ 9:30 am

Have anyone seen An Inconvenient Truth? Although I think the movie is an excellent case for global warming, and it shows proof that what scientists say about global warming is at odds with what is coming from the U.S. government. Maybe this is why Bush is hell bent on destroying the EPA.

Although I totally agree that the earth is being adversely affected, there are at least two things that were said by Gore that I think is part of a misinformation campaign to get a desired outcome.

1. Why would he say that the increase in the world’s population is creating an increase burden on the earth when it is clear that "The West" is using ~80% of the world’s resources and this population is dwindling. The adverse effects to the earth is from this population. Something is not kosher with that statement.

2. I’m not convinced about that whole peakoil theory. Simply put, I’m not convinced we are near the point of running out of oil that can be extracted easily or cheaply. If you want a different view about this whole peakoil theory or why America went to war with Iraq, I recommend reading Chapter 2 in Greg Palast’s Armed Madhouse.

  1. Global warming is a lie and Al Gore is just using it to keep his name in the spotlight until he decides if he actually has a real chance to lose the presidency (again) in 2008.

GG: Come on now, all the scientific report agree that global warming is occurring. This is not debatable. If you open your eyes and look, you will be surprised at what you will find. However, just in case you are truly ignorant of the facts, here are some: 1) Pacific Islanders forced to move because their Islands are under water. 2) Artic Ice is melting because of global warming. 3) Here is a list of peer reviewed articles in the Science journal that deals with global warming and intensity of storms, etc.

There is no excuse for this type of ignorance….

  2. LOL… Does the idiot above just lurk and wait for you to post so he can piss all over it? Me thinks he has a crush on you! Reminds me of the 8 year old who waits outside the classroom door so he can pull on the pigtails of the girl he’s in love with as soon as she walks out.

LOL. I’m not saying this is what GG is doing, but I do remember those days…

Good post Cynthia. I have two posts for you to check out that are very relevant. The first once is: The Canary is Dead!. It draws upon some of the fantastic work of the PCRF and my own vast diving experience and the second one is far more comprehensive in terms of explaing much about “Peak Oil”. It’s Robert Newman’s – History of Oil. Be sure and check out the research done by Sans-culotte in the comments section. He is a brilliant researcher and works for habitat for humanity in his non-blogging time.

Thanks Nate, I will certainly stop by.

I could come up with just as many articles proving that global warming is a big farce created by anti-God environmentalists. You constantly buy into the hype as long as the ire is directed at conservatives. I could come up with a bunch of stuff, but here’s one of the best reads which proves my point: http://www.junkscience.com/news/robinson.htm.

GG: This stuff is not published in any scientific journale. This is proganda paid for by either the Right Wing portion of our government or Corporate America so that they can keep doing what they are doing (i.e. no accountability). Now, if you want to impress me, find an article that have been peer reviewed by the Scientific community and published in a journal.

Hey GG, if you can find an article that have been published in a scientific journal, I will give you a gift certificate to any restaurant of your choice up to $50.

I dont know you and I know that you dont know me, but thanks for introducing yourself by calling me an “idiot”, how typical it is when liberals come across anyone that disagrees with them, they have to throw insults & use name-calling instead of respectfully debating the issues and agreeing to disagree. And THATS why I banned Roderick from my blog, not because he disagreed with anything i said but because he is incapable of making a point or disgreeing with someone without calling them names or belittling them. He did that to me and he did that to several of my commenters. And after warning him a handful amount of times, I finally had no choice but to ban him. He’s obviously still sore about it or else he wouldnt still talk about it. But now I understand why you two seem to get along so well.
